“Rathlin Island - 19th June 2010”

This Saturday walk was lead by Avril and supported with a large turnout of members. The weather was sunny and bright with crystal clear views. After a short ferry trip from Ballycastle to Rathlin Island the group split into two - one group going via bus to the bird sanctuary (to allow more time to see the various sights) and the other walking there and back (slightly over 9 miles) The views of Puffins on the cliff edges was spectacular and we even spotted a rare orchid on the way to the Sanctuary. Several of the group finished up the day in the Marine Hotel in Ballycastle for some food! Great to see Charlie present on this walk and as always the conversation was magic!

Our thanks to Avril for organising a truly excellent and interesting trip.
