The Ghosts Of Errigal

“Banagher Glen - 1st January 2010 - New Years Day Walk”

This walk was led by Mary and the weather was bright and Sunny but very cold! This 1st Jan walk is traditionally Errigal Mountain in Donegal but due to feedback from the area about extremely bad conditions it was decided to do Banagher Glen instead.
Underfoot was treacherous in Banagher and deep snow with a frozen top crust made the going hard, additionally rather than risk getting cars stuck we started somewhat back down the glen. This made for a longer and more challenging walk!
The views where spectacular and the weather remained bright if somewhat cold, copious amounts of Christmas cake, cheese, shortcake and mulled, spiced wine kept us fortified on the excellent walk!
Our thanks to Mary for a great New Years Day walk!
