“Cuilcagh Walk - Sunday 24th August 2008”

Cuilcagh Mountain is set in one of the finest intact examples of Upland Blanket Bog in Western Europe. Height 2188 feet Round trip 15 Kilometres or 9 Miles. This is a B/C Walk (Moderate to difficult) The weather started off initially damp and raining but improved as the day progressed. The route is clearly marked from start point in the car park to the summit. Ground was extremely wet and boggy – clear that extensive damage is being done to this well used route by walkers’ feet! Watch out for the mosquitoes! The route has been partially covered in the dreaded plastic mesh to protect the surface but this is not yet completed, this is lethal (super slide!) until covered with a layer of grass! In all an excellent days walking with a stop for food in Enniskillen to round up the day!

This blog is a collection of pictures, some GPS info and a few words in relation to my weekly treks with the
Foyle Hill walking club.

All photos or information is the property of the owners and must not be used without their express written permission. If anyone wants a photo removed please let me know and I will comply immediately.

For GPS users I have a GPX file for each walk and can provide if requested – you can use this for your own walks or to overlay as I have done. All the photos are resized to 640x480 for the web - I retain the originals.
