“Banagher Glen - Saturday 16th August 2008”

Banagher Glen was an alternate walk (initially planned to be Horn Head) due to the poor weather. Unfortunately the weather continued to deteriorate and it rained heavily non-stop. Several minor and some serious landslides were evident around the glen with some very large rocks falling on to the road. At one stage flood water running off the hills into the Banagher dam across the glen road required we link arms to ford safely!
Boulders being pushed down the flooded river caused the ground to vibrate with large thuds each time they struck each other. In summary a wet day but the group remained in high if somewhat soggy spirits.

Banagher Glen 16th August 2008
Distance Covered 8.2 Miles
Elapsed Time 2 Hours 55 Minutes.
